Versa Aries is not a typical conventional (Analog) two-way radio, it is an IP (Internet Protocol) two-way radio. The radio’s main requirement in order for it to operate is Internet Connectivity.

There are two ways for Versa Aries POC / IP Two-Way Radio connects to the internet.

• Via SIM Card
• • Versa Aries have two SIM Card slots for Nano SIM Cards. Please note that the Sim should have enough data load/plan for internet connectivity.
• Via Wi-Fi
• • Versa Aries’s Wi-Fi Settings can be manually configured using the unit’s interface. The unit is compatible with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi Access Points.

It does not use commercial radio frequencies such as VHF or UHF. Versa Aries uses Cellular Network Bands which covers UHF to SHF Bandwidths.

Coverage of the unit will depend on the Telco Coverage of the SIM in used. Versa Aries unit is open to many SIM cards all throughout the world, plus its capability to connect to Wi-Fi. Generally speaking, Versa Aries has a nationwide to worldwide connectivity as long as it is connected to the internet.

PTT and GPS Functionality

With the typical operation of security personnel, the average data consumption of a Versa Aries Unit for a month is less than 500 MB (Megabytes) for PTT Functionality, such Transmission and Reception of Calls, and GPS. The parameters for this test are 24 Hours Online, 2 to 3 Hours talking time, and 5 seconds GPS interval per day. Thus, the Versa Aries unit’s data consumption per day is on less than or equal to 20 Mb (Megabytes).

Yes, the Versa Aries Radio unit is waterproof and can be submerge underwater of 1.5-meter depth for 30 minutes. The IP (Ingress Protection) Rating of Versa Aries is IP68. This means that Versa Aries is (6) Fully Dust Protected and (8) Submersible Waterproofed. Though, it should be put in mind that the covers, such as the Battery, Accessory, and USB Covers must be properly closed before submerging it to water.
